Stunning Mommy-to-Be! | Ann Arbor Michigan maternity photographer

Wednesday, July 27th, 2011

Tara is expecting her first baby next month, and is just stunning!  My belly (at 29 weeks) was actually bigger than hers at 34 weeks!  Here are some of my favorites from her session – it was difficult to choose because they all turned out gorgeous!

Natalie is the first-born daughter of my friend Alexis (see her Maternity Session, and it was a HUGE thrill to have another girl in the studio!  Most of my recent newborns have been boys!  We had so much fun posing her with all the girly goodies!

Gotta love the back wrinkles!

Introducing…Click! photography workshops & mentoring | Michigan photographer

Friday, July 22nd, 2011

Since I started my business, I have had many requests wondering if I offer any basic photography classes for parents/people to take to get better photos of their children or families in their everyday lives.

I know that many of my clients, friends, and family have DSLRs but haven’t had the time to sit down and really figure out how to use it?  Are you guilty of shooting on Auto mode, all of the time?  (you know…that little green box on the dial?)  I know that I did when I received my first DSLR.

“So now almost everyone owns a camera. Yet, of all the commonplace tools available to us, the SLR camera is propably the least understood and certainly the most under-exploited. All too frequently the average amateur will purchase a fine modern camera and proceed to use it for making the most elementary simple snapshots. This surely is like playing ‘Chopsticks’ on a concert grand piano.”

– Famous NY photographer, Sam Haskins

I thought I might offer something different; since I am 90% self-taught, I thought I’d offer “Click! photography workshops & mentoring” to those that would like to be a more serious hobbyist.

The first workshop, “It’s NOT the camera” is designed to take place in person, for approximately 3.5 hours.  It includes hands-on guidance, a curriculum that will cover the components of your camera, and the basics of understanding the ever-important exposure triangle.  You will walk away with confidence and understanding on how to take your camera off Auto mode and understand more about how to take better photographs.

***It is VERY important to note that this course will not be covering any information about starting a photography business, advanced photography, or Photoshop (or other editing programs) instruction; rather, it is focused on the everyday shooting aspect of documenting your life.  Participants must sign a non-compete agreement stating that they will not offer a similar course or start a photography business within one year of completing the course.***

Now for the details!!!

What’s Included:

• It’s NOT the camera! workshop
• Lunch!  We will take a short break and lunch will be provided (please specify any special dietary needs when registering)
• Workbook for you to take home with you, detailing what we have covered and for you to take notes

When:  Sunday, August 14th from 9:30am to 1pm.

Where: Two Angels Photography Studio (located between Brighton & Howell, MI)

Required Equipment:

• Lens (Kit lens that comes with your camera or other lens)

The workshop will be capped at 8 registrants to be sure that there is ample time to cover the workbook and answer individual questions.

2011 Trip to Bowling Green, KY | Vacation Photos

Wednesday, July 13th, 2011

Over the Fourth of July weekend, I traveled to see my friend, and fellow photographer, Cheree Federico.  Her family are amazing hosts and I always have a wonderful time.

This time, we visited Lost River Caves, and their butterfly house, and then took a trip to a local orchard, where peaches were in harvest.  First up, butterfly pics!

Next…photos from Jackson’s Orchard!

Almost forgot one!
