About the person behind the lens:
My name is Christina, and for as long as I can remember, I have wanted to be a photographer. I even went so far as to create a ‘dark room’ in my bedroom as a child…and unfortunately, several family photos and my favorite baby blanket didn’t survive that experiment. My style is often described as clean, vibrant; a mix of contemporary and traditional – with a twist.
How did this interest lead to Two Angels Photography?
When we lost our twin daughters, we didn’t have a camera with us. We were given some snapshots of us with our girls, and those are the only pictures we have of them. After I had my first son, I took as many photos as I could of him. I wanted to capture every moment. I returned to work and was unhappy. I desired a position that would allow me to spend more time with him, and would combine my technical and my artistic skills.
By the time we had our second son, something had ‘clicked’. I began to really understand that photography was a combination of capturing the moment and understanding the technical requirements of the camera.
While I’m a natural-light, on-location photographer at heart, living in Michigan presents a *bit* of a challenge in the winter months, and so I also have a studio in my home.
I offer my services to people of all ages, my true love lies in maternity and newborn sessions. To me, there’s nothing more beautiful than a woman and her baby bump, and there’s nothing more awe inspiring than a brand new baby. I am located in Livingston County, just to the west of Metro Detroit, and a short drive from Ann Arbor and Lansing. My studio is located in between Brighton & Howell.
Where did the name “Two Angels Photography” come from?
It has a special meaning – it’s for our twin daughters whom we lost in August 2006.
